Day 2 - in Hsinchu Area 1, RI D 3500 Cutting-Edge Electronic Tech hub of the World

DAY 2 04.08.2009 Wed

Yes, following the Sushi, the pub and Karaoke fun and more last night, 5650 GSE Team is now ready to dig in "un poco de toto - a little bit about everything" here in the home of the world class electronic tech hub, Hsinchu County (literally New Bamboo Castle) north in Taiwan Island.

Q: Where is the beef? A: In Nebraska! - Answer from Taiwan Rotarians

DAY 1 - 04.07.2009 Tue

"Where is the beef?"
"In Nebraska."

That's the answer from Rotarians and a great number of people in Taiwan. It's not a joke at all.

So, as Mailani led 5650 GSE Team, Jill, Maegan, Jeff and Chris to Taiwan, they enjoyed a hearty welcome in the arrival hall of TIA. They deserve it not only because of their really long trip flying from Omaha Int'l Airport, through Miniappolis Int'l Airport, acrossing North Pole, via NRT International Airport (Tokyo) Japan, to TIA (Taipei) Taiwan, but also thanks to Nebraska's steady supply of quality beef, corn and more to Taiwan.

ARRIVAL AT TIA
The GSE Team arrived and received amazingly passionate welcome and warm from 3500 GSE staff and the first 5 host clubs in Hsinchu Area #1 represented by their presidents, namely GSE Chair P.P. Language, A.G. Tim, presidents Cargo, EP, Jackie...

Everybody laughed from ear to ear and greeted to each other. The welcome poster was created by GSE Chair Language (Vincent LU)as an improvision right in the airport meeting point 2.
It reads "Welcome AK SAR-BEN GSE"
Mailani loved the poster and kept it as collectible.
Upon finishing the snap shots together, the welcome team walked the Nebraska GSE team to the Mini Bus and hit on the roak to Lakeshore Hotel Metropolis in downtown Hsinchu, about 40min ride away from TIA Airport.
They would enjoy an overnight stay in the hotel. May they sleep tight.

Good Night, Mailani and fellow team members.
Good Morning, all Rotarians in D 5650, Nebraska and SW Iowa.
Esp. Robert Rapp, GSE Outbound Team Coordinator.

Let's expect an exciting Day on Day 2.
